Counter Strike New Revealed
Valve finally announced Counter Strike New after weeks of rumors. It's an update for CS:GO that will bring the game onto the Source 2 engine and make some significant visual changes.
It also brings sub-tick server update and smoking grenades that are responsive. It's got plenty of armchair gamers going crazy but it appears to be an incredible improvement for the average player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New has a huge update that will change the way smokes are used in the game. The changes, which are dubbed responsive smokes, are an important game changer. Smokes will expand to fill up spaces naturally and move around objects on the map. They will also respond to the lighting in the game, making their appearance more appealing and realistic. Smokes will also interact with gameplay events. This will provide new opportunities for tactical play. Bullets, for instance, will push smoke to temporarily clear the sightlines. Hex grenade blasts will also disperse smoke and occlusion.
The biggest change to smokes is that they'll become a more active part of the game. Smokes in earlier versions were fixed-shaped objects that had a restricted ability to move and blocking. The new smokes will occupy the space they are placed and make it harder for players to see vision when they are there. This is a significant improvement that will increase the speed of play and will give both teams the same visibility.
In addition, smokes will now react to the environment, weaponry, and lighting in the world space. This makes smoke more realistic and allow players to use it to gain an edge over their opponents. This will especially be useful in the chaotic 5v5 games which are bound to occur on every map.
Smokes are no longer one-way. This was a major problem in CSGO as it allowed players to see the location of their opponents from behind the smoke. Twistzz, a popular CS:GO pro, says that the new system is a huge improvement for competitive CS2 and makes it more fair for both teams.
Other minor changes include adjusting the vertical location of smoke particles to prevent the visibility of edges and changing the smoke overlay visuals to reflect their camera's position. The expiration time of smokes was updated to be more in line with the visuals of how they fade onto the screen.
Loadouts
CS: GO players can now modify their weapon choices prior to the start of each game. The updated loadout system lets players to select the weapons that best suit their playstyle and team's strategy. The new system also brings new tactical depth to the game, since players must be able to balance firepower and utility.
The CS: GO Update includes numerous other improvements and changes in addition to the new loadouts. The buy menu was completely redesigned. The old buy wheel has been replaced by an adjustable grid that displays all options for purchase simultaneously. The grid has been filled with five pistols as well as five "mid-tier" weapons, such as shotguns and submachine guns, and five carbines and rifles.
The new system is simple to use and will give players more control over their weapon selection. They can pick the weapons which best suit their style of play, team strategy and play around with different combinations. It will also allow players to test their abilities against other players' loadouts, and see how they compare.
Many players have praised the added flexibility, while others have criticized it for straying from the fundamental premise of Counter-Strike. There have been concerns about how it could affect the specific loadouts for maps and skins for agents that are based on visibility.
However, despite these criticisms, it is important to keep in mind that the new loadout system is still in its early stages and will undergo more thorough testing in the coming months. Some of these issues could be addressed in future updates. It is important to stay updated for more details.
Workshop Tools are also included in the update and can be enabled via the settings menu. This allows community contributors to design weapon finishes and stickers, as also maps. In addition, the update will now live ban players who violate the rules of VAC during matches.
The latest CS GO update is scheduled to be released later in the summer. Players can check out the complete list of features and upgrades by visiting the official CS: GO site.
Sub-Tick Updates

The world of Counter-Strike is updated by the server in discrete time increments called ticks. Valve wants to ensure that CS: GO is responsive and smooth. The smallest delay could alter the accuracy of an attack. A new video reveals the biggest improvements made to the game, also known as sub tick updates.
Instead of a 64-tick-update each millisecond, CSGO is now able to use sub-ticks, or as Valve calls them, "micro ticks", to communicate with the servers. The client will keep track of each of tiny increments and then send them to the server. The server will send the updated game state back to players. The servers will now know the exact moment when you shot, jumped, peeked or made other inputs.
While a one-minute video is not enough to explain everything the video explains every piece of data sent by the client is accompanied by a time stamp, and that the server will collect all the information from all players in chronological order prior to sending it back. According to the video, a CS: GO will be capable of sending twice as much data than a 64-tick CS: GO.
That means that if the game's tick rate increases to 128 Hz, it will be able to process your commands immediately and consistently. It's not solely about increasing the tick rate also, micro-tick updates also reduce latency and input lag by guaranteeing that the server is responding to your actions without delays or glitches.
Valve's technical enhancements to the game are just beginning. The company is implementing dynamic smoke and particle systems to improve how smoke interacts with the environment, and it's updating all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures and models. Source 2 tools and features will be used to upgrade all CS: GO cosmetics and weapons.
Maps
The next update for Counter Strike New brings new maps and a few classics that have been updated with facelifts. The updates are currently being tested in limited beta. The first set of maps includes touchstone and upgrade maps that will not see major changes to gameplay, whereas others have been fully rebuilt or overhauled with the new Source 2 tools.
Overpass is one of these maps that was reworked in order to benefit from the new engine's unified illumination system. The underpass of the map has been filled with light, making the space more spacious and less crowded. Smoke grenades are now expanding dynamically to fill spaces, and interact with the light.
Another map that has been revamped is Italy, which has received a significant overhaul in texture lighting, structure, and lighting. The new version is more balanced than the previous version, which was heavily CT focused. In the near future fans can expect to see classics like Aztec and Militia revamped.
These maps won't be added to the competitive map pool, even though they are still playable. The only exception is Train which was pulled out of Active Duty and will continue to be played in tournaments. Valve hasn't confirmed yet if the other maps that were taken will be added back to the pool.
Helsingin Sanomat is the national newspaper of Finland. Its update has been deemed controversial. The newspaper has been open in its critique of Russia's actions in Ukraine. This map is based on conflict-ravaged Donetsk. csgo cases is dubbed de_voyna, and it contains a number of references to the conflict.
In the future the developer will be releasing a set Source 2 tools for community map makers to utilize in their own designs. This will include features like improved lighting and character reading, as well as physically-based rendering that creates realistic materials and textures. It will also make real-world objects, like doors and windows, simpler to create. The update is expected to be released in the summer of this year.
